The London Mahasi Monastery was founded under the teachings of the Mahasi Sayadawgyi, Venerable Sobhana. The purpose and objectives of the Venerable Mahsai Sayadaw are to enable people, who are living in England, to practice mindfulness and insight meditation. The monks from the Mahasi Sasana Yeikthar Center in Yangon are brought in on a rotating basis to systematically supervise and teach the yogis. One person alone cannot fulfill the great and noble mission of the Mahasi Sayadawgyi. Only with the efforts of us all can the vision of the abbot be successfully and long-lastingly implemented.

လန်ဒန်မဟာစည်ကျောင်းကြီးသည် ကျေးဇူးတော်ရှင် မဟာစည်ဆရာတော်ဘုရားကြီး၏ ဩဝါဒဖြင့်တည်ထောင်ခဲ့သော ကျောင်းကြီးဖြစ်ပါသည်။ ထို့ကြောင့် ဆရာတော်ဘုရားကြီး၏ ရည်ရွယ်ချက်၊ ရည်မှန်းချက်များဖြစ်သော အင်္ဂလန်နိုင်ငံတွင် နေထိုင်သူများအား သတိပဋ္ဌာန် ဝိပဿနာ ကမ္မဠာန်း ကျင့်ကြံပွါးများအားထုတ်နိုင်ရန်၊ ရန်ကုန်မဟာစည်သာသနာ့ရိပ်သာကြီးမှ ဆရာတော်များကို အလှည့်ကျပင့်ဆောင်၍ ယောဂီများအား စနစ်တကျကြီးကြပ်သင်ကြားပြသပေးရန်တို့ဖြစ်ပါသည်။ တစ်ဦး၊ တစ်ယောက်ကောင်းရုံမျှဖြင့် ကြီးကျယ်မြင့်မြတ်သော ဆရာတော်ကြီး၏ရည်မှန်းချက်ကို အကောင်အထည်ဖော်နိုင်မည်မဟုတ်ပါ။ အများစုပေါင်းပါမှသာ ဆရာတော်ကြီး၏ ရည်မှန်းချက်ကို အောင်မြင်အရှည်တည်တံ့အောင် အကောင်အထည်ဖော်နိုင်မည် ဖြစ်သဖြင့်ဆရာတော်ကြီးကို အစဉ်ပူဇော်၊ ရိုသေ၊ လေးစားသောအားဖြင့် အားလုံးညီညွတ်စွာ စုပေါင်း၍ ဆောင်ရွက်ကြပါစို့လို့ ဆန္ဒပြုလျှက်။
